Barbara Riggins
Barbara Riggins has dedicated more than 31 years to supporting individuals and serving in a variety of roles within the social services field. Her work has consistently reflected a deep commitment to improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations.

Since 2004, Barbara has served as President of Riggins Residential, a private residential and day support provider licensed through the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). Alongside her husband, Wade, and their business partner, she has helped build and operate the organization, creating happy, healthy, and safe homes for adults with intellectual disabilities in Henrico and Hanover counties. For more than two decades, the organization has provided high-quality residential services and meaningful day support programming designed to foster independence, dignity, and purpose.

Barbara earned her bachelor’s degree from Frostburg State University in Maryland. She and Wade have been married for 35 years and are the proud parents of two children. They cherish time spent with family and friends and are especially excited to welcome another grandson to their growing family.
